Glogster: Projects with Pizzaz!

Glogster, a free service for creating multi-media, digital posters, has just redesigned their homepage and added a few new features… check it out!

Teachers can even sign up for GlogsterEdu for a safer platform for student accounts.  Kids can create interactive posters to share with others or simply to synthesize their knowledge of a particular concept.

I’ve had my students develop digital writing projects with this Web 2.0 tool, and the class was engaged in their work along with being an active participant during the gallery presentations we conducted during language arts class – where each child showcased his or her masterpiece.

The class really enjoys being able to directly link their favorite photos, add stylish photo frames around their images, embed YouTube segments to enhance their message, and convey their voice through unique fonts.

Below is an example of work that one of our Glogsters created at Madison… enjoy!
(if you hover your cursor over the upper right “Glogster” corner, you will get a drop down menu of options – including ‘to view full size.’)
The other example, Wind Turbine, was borrowed as an example from the Glogster archive.
