ROMO: The Friendly, Personal Robot that Learns as You Play!

ROMO is by far the coolest gift my kids received this year!

ROMO by Romotive Inc. is a friendly robot from another world, built to teach kids the basics of computer programming and robotics through a series of adventurous challenges. Using an iPhone or iPod Touch as his brain, ROMO helps kids, ages 8 and up, get excited about science, technology, engineering, and math as soon as they can read.
After downloading ROMO’s free updates from the App Store, kids can journey with him across the galaxy, playing challenging missions which introduce the simple concepts behind the programs and software that run our technological world.  ROMO is one of the first truly smart, evolving toys that also functions as an advanced communications device. His abilities and features expand over time as users find endless ways to play and learn with him.
ROMO arrives in the Mail!
When I first heard of ROMO, I had to have it!  I put this friendly robot on my holiday list.  To my surprise, a representative from Romotive, Inc. contacted me to see if I’d be interested in hosting a review on my blog.  Ummm, yes please!  I couldn’t have been more excited!  My daughter, Riley, literally squealed when I told her ROMO was in the mail.
Having a Tech Playdate!
The week ROMO arrived, I happened to receive a few other fun techy gadgets.  I decided to have a geeky play date.  I invited some friends that I met on Twitter and have since become close.  They brought their children over, too.  Each family brought a few techy items to play around with and explore.  We had everything from a Makey-Makey to a SMART Table to ROMO.  The afternoon was a tech lovers idea of super fun!
ROMO was a total hit!  The kids were instantly drawn to his charismatic personality and charming mannerisms.  They had made a new friend.  It was a joy to watch them interact and work together to play and program.
Though ROMO is recommended for ages 8 and above, littler ones can certainly join in the fun.  Just look at Jacob’s face!  He adores ROMO.  They’re great buddies.
Everyone Loves ROMO!
I’ve been so impressed with ROMO that I’ve already had two friends purchase ROMO for themselves.  One was an adult colleague that just had to have the friendly robot and the other was a girl friend who bought a ROMO for her son for Christmas.
I highly encourage you to check out the video below and see ROMO in action.

  1. ROMO seems to me very cool robot indeed. I truly learned about it and planning to gift my kid one. Since she is growing up and hopefully ROMO will be helpful to let her learn computer based programming easily. Thanks.
